Belorussian paramilitary unit for revention of initiation and elimination of open gaz blowouts and oil spouters (BPU)

Established in 1967.

Primary activities:

–measures of gas blowouts and oil spouters prevention;
– elimination of open gas blowouts and oil spouters;
– emergency repair works in gas-polluted environment, escape in case of inflammable items ignition, participation in emergency response;
– localization and gathering of oil and oil products from the ground and water surfaces;
– examination of technical and design documentation on well-kill safety.
