RUE “Production association “Belorusneft” enterprises for oil products provision have begun the wholesale realization of the biofuel through the trade net on the whole territory of Belarus.
Mixed diesel engine fuel admitted to the oil products warehouses made by Open “Grodno Nitrogen” OJSC of the concern “Belneftekhim”. It is considered that the development of the biofuel technologies except for the ecological effect (i.e. reduction of the greenhouse emissions into the atmosphere) will allow to decrease the dependence of the countries on energy sources import and to increase profitableness of agricultural producers. Among obvious advantages of a new type of fuel the experts allocate such factor as the price. Wholesalers will pay for it 6% less than for the usual diesel engine fuel. Considering prospective demand for the biofuel, additionally to the existing stock which is usually formed for 10-15 days, 7 thousand tones more will be supplied in the nearest future. For today 120 fuel stations of “Belorusneft” are ready to accommodate and sale mixed fuel. Let us remind that until October the biodiesel engine fuel could be bought only at the bulk plants of Grodno region. Since November of the last year the enterprise “Belorusneft-Grodnooblnefteprodukt” was engaged in its realization.
This year manufacturing of the mixed bio diesel engine fuel was started by one of “Belorusneft” divisions — Oil and gas production department “Rechitsaneft”. Here on the 10th of October first 25 tones were released. Works are executed according to the government program on manufacturing of diesel engine biofuel for 2007 — 2010. For the purpose of realization of this project it is necessary to solve number of organizational and technical problems. I.e. it is supposed to produce rape-seed oil which can be used for production of methyl-ethers at the agricultural complex “Osobino”. Other issues such as the choice of the site for the new manufacturing, the purchase of technological (installations for fuel mixing components) and laboratory equipment, preparation and accreditation of the laboratory of checking of product quality and consideration of release volumes are still under consideration as well.
