Quality control

Availability of high-quality oil products is one of the conditions ensuring safe and trouble-free operation of the equipment, transport and other mechanized technologies. Production Association “Belorusneft” is guided by this motto when controlling oil product quality.

Constantly growing requirements, primarily environmental ones, to motor fuel require continuous improvement and modernization of oil refining techniques from Byelorussian petroleum refineries. Implementation of modernization programs of JSC “Mozyr Petroleum Refinery” and JSC “Naftan” made it possible for the enterprises to obtain new quality parameters of domestically produced fuel in compliance with the European standard: EURO-2 for motor fuel, EURO-4 for diesel fuel.

Fueling stations of “Belorusneft” sell motor fuel produced by Byelorussian petroleum refineries and gas processing plants.

The existing system of continuous oil product quality control ensures preservation of fuel qualitative indices and excludes selling of low-quality fuel.

PA “Belorusneft” has 34 laboratories, accredited by the State Standard of Belarus, available. The laboratories exercise oil product quality control upon receipt, storage and shipment of oil products both in warehouses and in fueling stations.

Since April 2008 a mobile laboratory of oil product quality control was put into operation with the aim to increase quality control of oil products sold at fueling stations of Production Association “Belorusneft” and exclude selling of low-quality fuel.

A mobile laboratory makes it possible to efficiently control the quality of fuel and receive conformance of oil products to normative documents by 10 major factors. The laboratory is equipped with up-to-date equipment – multifunction analyzers of gasoline and diesel fuel PetroSpec, Setaflash which make it possible to determine flash temperature, content of methyl, ethyl ethers of fatty acids, saturated, aromatic, olefinic hydrocarbons, methanol, ethanol, oxygen, benzol, toluene, and to define the standard quality indices on the basis of fuel component analysis: fractional composition, octane and cetane numbers, density.
